Hands-On Intro to Equine Assisted Therapy
Personal Growth for People through Activities that Incorporate Horses

3 CEU's for Mental Health Professionals sponsored by Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches

People often ask, Exactly what is equine assisted therapy, and how does it work?” This workshop offers an opportunity to experience a real session. If you are contemplating new and different ways to expand your own self-awareness, or you’d like to refer others who are stuck and unable to change their repetitive thought and behavior patterns, this workshop is for you. Come see how equine assisted therapy works by participating in a hands-on group session. Images, patterns, and metaphors are evoked through interactive activities with live horses that facilitate insight and a better understanding of self. This workshop will assist you in all relationships including clients, co-workers, supervisors, spouses, and family members. It is not designed to teach the technique of equine assisted therapy, but rather provide a stimulating, evocative, hands-on, and fun way to learn more about the modality, either for yourself, or as a referral source. Come learn about this innovative form of experiential therapy and, by participating yourself, see how you might use it as an adjunct to other self-awareness techniques! Three CEU’s available for MFT’s, LCSW’s, and LMHC’s.

NO HORSE EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. Horsemanship is not emphasized. All activities are un-mounted. Those unfamiliar with, afraid of, or inspired by horses are encouraged to attend. Participants should wear long pants, close-toed shoes, and sunscreen. Please bring bottled water as needed.
